Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful moms in the world!

This is the card that Jeff & I made for his mom.  It is based on this story that her friend always tells her about her (the friend’s) mother’s matzo ball soup.  The friend’s mom used to make two distinct type of matzo balls, “sinkers,” which always sunk to the bottom of the soup bowl, and “floaters,” which rose to the top of the broth.  Jeff’s mom (and most other people) always found this story odd, because if done right, it’s almost impossible to make matzo balls sink.  In general, the whole story is boring and a bit silly, but the friend nonetheless insists on telling it at every Passover.  In short: we thought Jeff’s mom would get a kick out of receiving a card that made reference to the story…plus, she loves to swim!

At work, we got humongous boxes of Kotex samples to hand out to students.  Gratuitously huge boxes.  Definitely uncalled for for such a small college…and way more boxes than we even have bathrooms!
But the broke art school kids are lovin’ it.
